CHRISTINE (TINA) FUENTES

Christine (Tina) Fuentes earned BFA and MFA degrees from North Texas State University in Denton, Texas, where she trained in paint- ing, drawing, and printmaking.  Research has taken on multiple explorations of the human form and its encounters throughout its lifelong journey.  Her work attempts to understand ancestor, god, and human and draws on the dynamics that the body may encounter in any given space.  For thirty-three years, Fuentes has taught at the Texas Tech University School of Art. Her art has been published in Art in America, Contemporary Chicano and Chicano Art, Art-Talk, and Art Space, as well as other publications in Santa Fe, Dallas, Denver, Scottsdale, Phoenix, and Albuquerque.  She has received several grants, including a National Science Foundation grant in 2015 for a science/ art collaborative research proposal.
